I will not comment on whether it was right or wrong to remove Terri Schiavo's feeding tube. I don't have all the facts. What bothers me most is the portrayal of her final moments while being cared for by the wonderful folks at Hospice. Hospice treats the terminally ill with compassion, dignity and, yes, drugs. A loved one's final moments are pain-free.
It saddens me that this has not been addressed in the media and that those who may need Hospice will not realize what wonderful work the organization does. While it is sad that Schiavo's life has ended, I can assure you she was not suffering.
