The Seaway Trail, which stretches from northwest Pennsylvania to the St. Lawrence Seaway, is included in the first-ever "Geotourism Map to Appalachia," produced by the Appalachian Regional Commission.
The 454-mile scenic driving and boating route is federally designated as one of America's Byways and is a National Recreation Trail. Sites selected for the map were chosen for their contribution to sustaining and enhancing the environment, culture, aesthetics, heritage and well-being of regional residents.
The map was developed by the National Geographic Society and is being distributed in the April issue of National Geographic Traveler. Seaway Trail Inc.'s new map for all of its coastal miles can be downloaded from www.seawaytrail.com.
