Edward V. English of Depew, a former supervisor with Scott Aviation, died Tuesday in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, after a short illness. He was 88.
A Buffalo native, he graduated from Seneca Vocational High School.
He was a sergeant in the Air Force in World War II, serving in the Philippines.
Mr. English was a supervisor and administered government contracts at Scott Aviation in Lancaster, retiring in 1973.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, the former Irene Brania of Depew; a daughter, Gerianne Czarnecki of Fort Collins, Colo.; two sisters, Florence Kantorski and Gertrude Cameron, both of Clarence; and one grandchild.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:45 a.m. today in St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 2069 George Urban Blvd., Depew. Entombment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
