Police are asking for the public's help with information about the slaying of a 33-year-old man who was gunned down Wednesday afternoon outside his East Side home.
Martin Jackson was in front of his home at 501 Grider St. at about 4:30 p.m. when the gunman fired two shots, striking him in the back. Jackson had just moved into the house, which is near Erie County Medical Center.
He was assisted to the hospital by a man who heard the shots, but Jackson died in surgery shortly after 8 p.m., according to Buffalo police homicide Lt. Kenneth Bienko.
Bienko said police are searching for a motive for the crime as well as trying to track down leads and witnesses.
