MAN PLEADS NOT GUILTY TO MOLESTING GIRL TWICE

A Town of Niagara man pleaded not guilty Thursday in Niagara County Court to charges of molesting a girl twice in Niagara Falls. The victim, now 15, was younger when the alleged incidents occurred.

Pablo M. Alvarado, 35, of Sabre Park, is charged with first-degree criminal sexual act, second-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

The first charge is for a single act that occurred sometime between December 2000 and August 2001; the second count is for another incident sometime between March 2002 and September 2003. The endangerment of the girl is supposed to have begun in December 1996, when she was 7.

Alvarado was sentenced earlier Thursday to 10 months in jail for a domestic assault in Niagara Falls, Assistant District Attorney Caroline A. Wojtaszek said.
