MAPLE FESTIVAL: Amherst Museum will hold its second annual Maple Festival from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, at 3755 Tonawanda Creek Road. A pancake brunch, featuring all-you-can-eat pancakes, will be provided by the Williamsville Lions Club, in partnership with the museum, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The festival also will include maple sugaring demonstrations, children's crafts and traditional 19th century cooking demonstrations. HEALTHY KIDS: The YMCA of Greater Buffalo urges families to "Put Play in Your Day" at Healthy Kids Day events Saturday. These free activities, open to the public, tackle the problem of childhood obesity by encouraging children to have fun by being active, eating well and staying well. Activities are planned at two locations: from 10 a.m. to noon in the Northeast Family YMCA, 4433 Main St., Amherst; and from 9 a.m. to noon in the William-Emslie Family YMCA, 585 William St. Call 565-6000 for more information.

RUN-WALK FOR HUNGER: Friends of the Night People will hold its second annual five kilometer Run-Walk Against Hunger starting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, at D'Youville College's Madonna Hall. Call 884-5375 for details.
