Amherst police arrested three people while breaking up two parties that involved underage drinking within 2 1/2 hours over the weekend, police officials said Monday.
Police responded to the first party at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday on Sprucewood Terrace, where they said five underage males were drinking beer. They charged John E. Clair, 41, of that address, with unlawful dealing with a child and with criminal nuisance. Police notified the other parents, who had to pick up their sons, all ages 16 or 17.
At 2:50 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a Ranch Trail West home, where they seized a bottle of rum and some beer bottles from at least four minors, ages 17 or 18. Police accused John E. Imiolo, 23, of Amherst, of bringing the alcohol and charged him with unlawful dealing with a child. They also charged Michael J. Ruben, 17, of the Ranch Trail West address, with criminal nuisance and possession of alcohol under the Alcohol Beverage Control law.
