Richard D. Bundy of Buffalo, a cook, died unexpectedly Wednesday in Erie County Medical Center. He was 22.
A lifelong Buffalo resident, Mr. Bundy attended Riverside High School and the New York State Job Corps, where he was being trained to be an electrician. He also attended art programs at Buffalo State College.
He worked as a cook at Tom's Restaurant in Amherst.
Mr. Bundy received an achievement award from Project Lee for basketball in 1997, and that same year, his team placed second in the Children's Journey Summer League. He loved writing and creating music and drawing.
He is survived by his parents, Richard and Portia; two sisters, Tammy and Amber, and his grandfather, James T. Horn, all of Buffalo; and his grandmother, Doris May Bundy of Richmond, Va.
Services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Lombardo Funeral Home, 102 Linwood Ave. Burial in Elmlawn Memorial Garden, Town of Tonawanda, is private.
