MAN ACCUSED OF ROBBING FATHER TO BUY CRACK

A Lackawanna man tore off his 60-year-old father's pants and took the cash from his wallet to buy crack cocaine Thursday, police said.

Martin Lenartowicz, 32, of 48 Holland Ave., attacked his father, James, after he refused to give him money, according to Lackawanna Detective Capt. Ron Miller.

"When the officers caught him at a drug house on Holland Avenue, the money was already gone," Miller said. "We suspect he bought crack and smoked it."

Police charged Lenartowicz with robbery.

Mack allegedly threatened the man with a gun and robbed him of $5 and then fled north on West Avenue.

Police tracked Mack down in less than 30 minutes. He had a $5 bill on him, a black mask in his pocket and was positively identified by the victim, police reported.

Mack was taken to the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment.
