DOLORES I. ROSEN, SECRETARY, ACTIVE VOLUNTEER <br> MARCH 10, 1933 -- DEC. 28, 2004

Dolores I. Rosen of Amherst, active as a volunteer, died Tuesday in Sheridan Manor Nursing Home, Town of Tonawanda, after a long illness. She was 71.

Born Dolores Foster in Buffalo, she attended Cheektowaga schools. She worked as a secretary for INS, a scrap iron business on River Road in the Town of Tonawanda operated by her husband, Irving.

After his death in 1983, she became a devoted volunteer worker for Meals on Wheels, the Red Cross, Millard Fillmore Hospital and Buffalo General Hospital. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Cheektowaga.

An animal lover and cat owner, she was a generous supporter of the Erie County SPCA.

Surviving are a daughter, Tuly of Kenmore, and two grandsons.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 15 in St. Luke's Church, 700 Maryvale Drive, Cheektowaga.
