An arrest warrant has been issued for the estranged husband of a Town of Collins woman who was injured during an attack early Friday.
David E. Inglut, 40, faces two counts of attempted murder, Erie County sheriff's deputies said.
Shortly after 6 a.m., sheriff's deputies and Gowanda police arriving at an Orchard Place address found Sherry M. Inglut, 29, bleeding from two stab wounds, deputies said. She was hospitalized in Erie County Medical Center and has been discharged.
A friend of the victim's family, who was staying at the home, is credited with disarming the attacker and possibly saving the woman's life, sheriff's deputies said.
The estranged husband is described as a white male, 5 feet, 6 inches tall, about 135 pounds, wearing blue jeans and wearing a tan or light brown jacket with a hood.
