Word of a jailhouse informant against murder suspect Rodney T. Davis surfaced Tuesday in Niagara County Court.
Davis, 39, of Church Street, is accused of the Aug. 4 stabbing and strangling death of his ex-girlfriend, Tina Boyer, in her Washburn Street apartment.
Assistant District Attorney Lisa M. Baehre said prosecutors recently were contacted by the informant, whose name was not disclosed.
Baehre declined to say what information he offered, but a Dec. 21 hearing was scheduled to determine if his testimony will be admissible at Davis' trial, now scheduled for Jan. 17.
However, co-defense attorney David C. Douglas said he may ask for a postponement in order to hire expert witnesses to contest forensic evidence.
