Dominic P. Comardo, a retired insurance agent and district manager, died Sunday in Beechwood Nursing Home, Getzville. He was 95.
Mr. Comardo, known as "Deamer," was born in Sicily and moved to the United States as a child with his family, which settled in Rochester. A graduate of Gregsville High School, he had a business degree from Rochester Business Institute.
He worked for 35 years with Prudential Insurance, starting as an insurance agent and staff manager in Rochester, then as a district manager in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and in South Buffalo. He retired in 1969.
He was a former president of the National Association of Life Underwriters and a former member of the Chartered Life Underwriters Leaders Club.
Mr. Comardo was a former chairman of the United Way of Buffalo & Erie County and former volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
He also played and managed semipro baseball in Rochester and enjoyed golf and bowling.
Survivors include his wife, the former Frances J. Spagnola of Snyder; two daughters, Joanne Kieffer of Williamsville and Marlene Stowe of Mooresville, N.C.; two sisters, Margaret Camiola and Vicki Cirrinconi, and a brother, Samuel, all of Rochester; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Tuesday in Christ the King Catholic Church, Snyder.
