ARAFAT WAS INDEED A TERRORIST WHO REPEATEDLY REJECTED PEACE

The writer who defended Yasser Arafat as a true fighter for his people and who asserted that his actions were acts of war and not those of a terrorist was way off base. Sending suicide bombers to kill hundreds of innocent children in a pizzeria or a discotheque is not an act of war. It is the act of an evil terrorist, no different than Osama bin Laden.

The "Black September" murder of Israeli Olympic athletes was Arafat's doing. Can any rational person claim that this was not an act of terror? If Arafat was a true fighter for his people, he would have accepted the offer of peace made by Israel when he was offered most of what he had demanded at Camp David during President Bill Clinton's last weeks in office. Instead, Arafat chose terror.
