2 1/2-YEAR TERM IMPOSED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

A former youth counselor at St. Paul Lutheran Evangelical Church in Niagara Falls was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison and ordered to pay a $2,000 fine for possessing child pornography, the U.S. Department of Justice reported Tuesday.

David Maginn, 53, of Niagara Falls, pleaded guilty July 27 and admitted he possessed numerous images of child pornography, Assistant U.S. Attorney Marie P. Grisanti said.

Maginn was arrested in March and sentenced Tuesday before U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny.

The FBI and Niagara Falls Police Department conducted the investigation.
