WALTER T. RICE, BLUEGRASS MUSICIAN
JUNE 3, 1939 -- NOV. 29, 2004

Walter T. Rice died Monday in Wyoming County Community Hospital after a brief illness. He was 65.

Born in Addison, Mr. Rice was was employed for several years in the maintenance department at Wal-Mart in Warsaw.

He was an accomplished bluegrass musician and enjoyed camping at Dream Lake Campground in Warsaw.

He was a member of Varysburg Valley Gospel Church and the Wyoming County Veterans Club in Warsaw.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta Mooney Rice; a son, Douglas Frew of Stafford; two daughters, Donna Washburn of Pavilion and Marcella of Warsaw; a brother, Emory of Warsaw; three sisters, Verneda King of Birdsall, Verna Clark of Mumford and Verda of Warsaw; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St.
