Julia Pesany, of Lancaster, who was an accountant for 33 years, died Saturday in Hospice Buffalo, Cheektowaga, after a long illness. She was 88.
Born Julia Czopko in McKees Rocks, Pa., she graduated from Lancaster High School in 1933.
Mrs. Pesany was an accountant for Gould National Batteries for 13 years and retired in 1981 after 20 years with Conax Corp.
She volunteered with Meals on Wheels for 10 years and enjoyed crocheting, cooking and baking.
Her husband of 41 years, Samuel, died in 1980.
Survivors include two daughters, Judith Robertson of Skaneateles and Nancy Brown of Paradise Valley, Ariz.; a son, Joseph S. of Lancaster; a sister, Florence Pfeifer of Pittsburgh; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Prayers will be said at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday in Amigone Funeral Home, 6050 Transit Road, Depew, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, 158 Laverack Ave., Village of Lancaster. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
