With renovations of a former industrial warehouse nearly complete, Pioneer Credit Recovery, soon to be Genesee County's largest private employer, will open a satellite office by mid-December.
The firm will occupy 14,000 square feet of what was, until about 20 years ago, the shipping and receiving building for Doehler-Jarvis, a die casting company.
Steven J. Hyde, executive director of the Genesee County Economic Development Center, owner of the property adjacent to its offices, said Pioneer will have 230 employees in the temporary quarters now being fitted with high-technology equipment.
Next year, Pioneer -- based in Arcade, Wyoming County -- will build a 20,000-square-foot office building in a new Gateway II Industrial Park to open off Route 98, north of the city. The full-scale operation plans to employ 450.
