Josephine M. Pardi of Buffalo, a former downtown store manager, died unexpectedly Thursday at a relative's home in Depew. She was 98.
Born Josephine Nottom she was a lifelong resident of Buffalo.
She started working outside the home in 1957, one year after her husband, Louis, died.
For more than 20 years, she worked as store manager at the Main Nut Shop on Main near Chippewa Street. Formerly the Morrow Nut House, the store shipped nuts to American troops overseas during World War II.
Mrs. Pardi retired in 1979.
She was the last surviving sibling among five sisters and six brothers. She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Florence Hill of Buffalo; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Monday in Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 20 Herkimer St. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
