A memorial service for Libby Ann Marranca, who owned a small business before becoming a school teacher, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Christian Assembly Church, 2060 Grand Island Blvd., Grand Island.

Ms. Marranca died Oct. 28 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston following a brief illness. She was 55.

The Buffalo native graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in 1967 and attended D'Youville College. She lived in Amherst and Lewiston much of her life.

From 1991 to 1997, Ms. Marranca owned LGM Data Services, a data entry and processing firm.

She was active in Christian Assembly Church for nearly 20 years and served at various times as bookkeeper, administrative assistant and secretary. She also served as church pianist and worship leader.

From 1998 to 2003, Ms. Marranca taught English, math and science at the Grand Island Christian Academy.

Surviving are her mother, Marian of Eden; two sisters, Ann Marie Croom of Buffalo and Donna of Evans; and a brother, Joseph of Cambria.

A private burial was held Oct. 29 in Lakeside Cemetery, Hamburg.
