CITY SELECTS ARCHITECTS FOR ARTSPACE PROJECT

The Buffalo firm Hamilton, Houston, Lownie Architects has been selected to design the future Artspace project at 1219 Main St.

Mayor Anthony M. Masiello and officials from Artspace Inc. of Minneapolis announced late Tuesday the choice of a panel composed of Artspace, city staff and community artists.

The former Breitweiser Printing building will be redesigned to create living and working units for 50 to 60 artists. Construction is scheduled to begin next November.
