A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister Mary Regina Kruczek, Franciscan Sisters of St. Joseph, a dietitian and an educator, will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Monday in Immaculate Conception Convent Chapel, 5286 South Park Ave., Hamburg. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
Sister Regina, who was born in Buffalo, died Friday in Colette Hilbert Health Center. She was 80.
She entered the postulancy of the order on Sept. 3, 1947, and professed her final vows July 12, 1952. She received a bachelor's degree and also a dietitian certificate from Mercy College in Detroit.
Sister Regina was an dietetic intern at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati and a dietitian's aide at St. Mary's Hospital in Brooklyn. She took education courses at Daemen College.
She was in the field of education for 30 years, teaching in parochial schools in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Wisconsin and Michigan, as well as at St. Mary of the Lake in Hamburg and St. Hyacinth School in Auburn. She also was librarian at St. Joseph School in North Tonawanda.
In 1985, she was assigned to Immaculate Conception Convent in Hamburg, where she helped with household activities. She joined the community of sisters in the Colette Hilbert Health Center this year.
Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Lysek of Buffalo.
