Police investigated two assaults involving city schoolchildren Friday.
In the first, a seventh-grader was attacked inside a restroom at Niagara Middle School on Girard Avenue, police said, being knocked to the ground and kicked repeatedly.
The victim was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for treatment. A fellow seventh-grader was interviewed by police in connection with the attack.
A school bus driver told police he was assaulted by two students at about 2:49 p.m. Friday while driving a busload of students to the Centre Court area.
The driver said he was hit in the back of the head with a thrown ball of aluminum foil. When he stopped the bus to investigate, police said, a youth tried to flee out the rear emergency doors, and two others jumped on the driver's back and began punching him.
Police said they took three youths into custody following the attack and are expecting to petition the youths to Family Court.
