Josue D. Ortiz, 23, of Germain Street, was arrested Thursday and charged with two counts of second-degree murder in the Nov. 11 shooting deaths of brothers Nelson Camacho, 36, and Miguel Camacho, 25, in their home at 879 Niagara St.
Police said the brothers were inside their downstairs apartment when Ortiz broke through their front door and used a large-caliber weapon to fire several shots at the men. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives have not released a motive in the killing. Co-workers, family and friends of the Camachos said they were not killed because of any drug involvement, love triangle or illegal activity.
