BUSH'S ONE-QUESTION RULE KEEPS MEDIA IN THE DARK

It comes as no surprise to anyone who knows me that I did not want George W. Bush to win either of his presidential elections. I believe he and his advisers have their own agenda for our country, with little thought or concern for the consequences their actions might have. Unfortunately, I cannot change the outcome of the election.

As I watched Bush's press conference on Nov. 4, I was appalled by his one-question rule. He rarely answers questions asked of him, and by not allowing follow-up questions, he continues to keep us in the dark. In effect, he is censoring our news by keeping the press at bay.

Why is it that this administration is not held accountable to the same standards as Bill Clinton's White House? Doesn't our Constitution provide for freedom of the press? Why have the media become so meek? Despite actions to the contrary, freedom of speech is not dead.
