ROBERT WALCK, PHOTOGRAPHER, TECHNICIAN
MAY 8, 1957 -- NOV. 6, 2004

Services for Robert L. Walck, a technical photographer and communication company technician, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in St. Peter Lutheran Church, 6167 Walmore Road, Sanborn.

Mr. Walck, of Houston, died Nov. 6 in a motorcycle accident while riding in Bandera County in the hill country northwest of San Antonio. He was 47.

He was born in Niagara Falls and grew up in Sanborn.

Mr. Walck earned a bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, in communication studies from Niagara University and a bachelor's degree in imaging and technical photography from Rochester Institute of Technology.

He worked as a staff photographer at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, where he documented activities of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, including astronaut training and studio photos. Most recently, he worked as a data line technician for Southwest Bell Communications.

His hobbies included biking, music, working on cars, traveling and reading.

Mr. Walck was a member of House of Prayer Lutheran Church in Webster, Texas.

Surviving are his fiancee, Jennifer Mason of Houston; his father and stepmother, Lester and Patti Walck of Sanborn; a brother, James J. of Endwell; and a grandmother, Arline Walck of Sanborn.
