Rose Bellavia, 82, of Buffalo, a retired factory worker, died Saturday in Millard Fillmore Hospital after a brief illness.
Born Rose Burgio, she was a lifelong Buffalo resident. She was a production worker at Merckens Chocolates, Abel's Bagels and Trico Products, where she retired in 1984.
She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and the Society De Campo Bello, and was active in senior citizens groups. She enjoyed cards and bowling, and was a devoted grandmother.
Her husband of 36 years, Joseph S., died in 1975.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Quinn and Carole, both of Buffalo; a son, Carl, of Cheektowaga; three sisters, Jennie DiNatale of Buffalo, Delores Samuels of California and Mary Petrotto of Kenmore; two brothers, Angelo Burgio of California and Dominic Burgio of East Amherst; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Prayers will be said at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday in Amigone Funeral Home, 2600 Sheridan Drive, Town of Tonawanda, followed at 9:30 by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rose of Lima Church, Parkside and Parker avenues.
Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
