NORMA JEAN PENNY
SEPT. 17, 1939 -- NOV. 10, 2004

Norma Jean Penny, a former ceramics store owner, died after a brief illness Wednesday at Manor Care of Palm Harbor, Fla. She was 65.

The former Norma Jean Bennett was born in Buffalo. She lived in West Seneca prior to moving to Largo, Fla., in 1991. Once in Florida, she worked as a head greeter at an automobile dealership until her retirement a few years ago.

Mrs. Penny owned a ceramics shop in Marilla and was a ceramics teacher at the West Seneca Senior Center. She continued her passion for ceramics after moving to Florida, teaching classes at the Largo Senior Center.

She is survived by her son Daniel R. of Ballston Spa; a daughter, Jean L. Mleczko of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; her mother, Verna Hunt of Depew; a sister, Sandra Lang of Depew; a brother, Robert Bennett of Lockport; and two granddaughters.

Her husband, Daniel "Pete" Penny, died in 2002.

A memorial service will be held next spring.
