I am a dyed-in-the-wool Bills fan who enjoyed Sunday's big win over our rival. However, my enthusiasm was tempered a great deal after gazing up at the stadium's flag arrangement. A situation exists that must be rectified immediately by the Bills' organization.
Thirty-two poles are erect, 16 per side -- presumably, one for each team flag. Where the Seattle Seahawks' flag should be flies Old Glory, in shameful breach of flag etiquette. The flag is always to be flown prominently in a group, front and center. As a young veteran, it is my duty to call on the organization to right this and try to remember its civic role in our proud community. This is a mind-boggling oversight that a major league sports operation simply should not make.
I should also note that no Houston Texans flag flies and that several designs are outdated. The New York Giants are five years outdated. If you won't bring back the old uniforms, at least fix the team flags!
