A former state corrections officer could spend up to six months behind bars for having sex with an inmate at a prison where she was employed.
Mona Parris, 32, pleaded guilty Wednesday in Dutchess County Court to felony third-degree rape.
Parris, of Queens, admitted having sex with an inmate at the Fishkill Correctional Facility. She resigned as a corrections officer in June.
As part of a plea agreement with prosecutors, Parris was promised a sentence of no more than six months in jail and five years probation.
The case was prosecuted as a rape since Parris held a position of authority over the inmate.
Sentencing is set for Dec. 22.
