The stocks of companies with operations in the Buffalo area rose for the week, led by Rand Capital Corp.
The Buffalo Bloomberg Stock Index rose 5.01, or 2.31 percent, to 222.06. Forty-six stocks rose and 10 fell. The index has risen 18 percent in the past year.
Buffalo based Rand, an investment company, led the index's gainers for the week, rising 58 cents, or 46 percent, to $1.85.
Among the index's leading decliners was Rite Aid Corp., whose stock fell 7 cents, or 1.94 percent, to $3.53.
Columbus McKinnon Corp. fell 13 cents, or 1.75 percent, to $7.29.
The Buffalo Bloomberg Stock Index reached a 52-week high of 222.06 this week, and its 52-week low of 184.61 on Nov. 20, 2003.
