AMERICANS WIN IN SHOOTOUT

Jason Pominville forced overtime with a late power-play goal, then scored in the sudden-death portion of the shootout to carry the Rochester Americans to a 2-1 American Hockey League victory over the Syracuse Crunch.

Pominville's second try in the shootout zipped past goalie Pascal Leclaire.

Rochester goalie Ryan Miller gave up one goal in the shootout to Joe Motzko. But he forced Motzko to shoot wide in sudden death, then Pominville won the game with the next shot.
