CANADA, U.S. TIE AT FOUR NATIONS CUP

Katie King's second-period goal lifted the United States into a 1-1 tie with Canada in the Four Nations Cup international women's hockey tournament at Burlington, Vt.

Jenny Potter, who assisted on King's goal, had a chance to win the game in the final seconds but goalie Charline Labonte made a sliding save on her shot. Canada opened the scoring on Jayna Heffort's power play goal at 15:33 of the opening period.

Play continues Saturday in Lake Placid, with Canada against Finland and the United States against Sweden. The gold medal game is Sunday.
