Ryan Miller made 35 saves, including 22 in the third period, and Chris Taylor took advantage of a fluke carom off the end boards to score the game's only goal as the Rochester Americans beat the Hamilton Bulldogs, 1-0, in Rochester.
Miller through two periods faced just 13 shots. But the Bulldogs picked up the tempo in the final 20 minutes. Their best chance for the tying goal came at 9:16, when minor penalties to Todd Rohloff and Derek Roy left Rochester two men short.
The Americans killed off the power play, allowing just three shots on goal.
