A 54-year-old man was arrested Monday afternoon after police said he slapped a 15-year-old Buffalo boy who has Down syndrome.
John Pascall, 54, of Walden Avenue, was charged with assault, endangering the welfare of a child and endangering the welfare of an incompetent/physically disabled person.
The boy was treated in Hodge Pediatrics of Women and Children's Hospital.
His mother told police Pascall used his open hand to strike the boy in the face several times from Saturday through Monday. The assault occurred at the boy's home on Clinton Street.
Central District Police Officer Sharon Anderson arrested Pascall at the clinic at about 3:10 p.m.
