JEAN E. SWAN

A Mass of Christian Burial for Jean E. Swan of Buffalo will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, 180 George Urban Boulevard, Cheektowaga. Burial will be in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Lancaster.

Mrs. Swan died Monday in St. Catherine Laboure Health Care Center at Sisters Hospital after a brief illness. She was 91.

Born Jean Marszalski in Buffalo, she was a sales clerk with Sattler's department store during the 1950s and '60s.

Mrs. Swan was treasurer of the Polish National Alliance and taught Polish folk dancing.

During World War II, she was a Red Cross volunteer and a leader in the Polish Girl Scouts of America. She also was active with Dom Polski.

Her husband, Casimir, died in 1971.

Survivors include two daughters, Claire Kemmerer of Cheektowaga and Eleanore Jarzynski of Depew; a son, Joseph of Cheektowaga; two brothers, Leopold "Peter" Marszalski of Cheektowaga and John Marszalski of Depew; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
