Niagara County is seeking a new historian to replace David L. Dickinson, who died July 13.
County Clerk Wayne F. Jagow said Tuesday that applications must be submitted to him by Monday at P.O. Box 461, Lockport, NY 14095.
The part-time position will pay $16,471 for 17 1/2 hours a week. It includes no benefits. Jagow said the candidates will be interviewed by a screening committee, beginning around Nov. 30. The eventual appointee will be recommended to the County Legislature by County Manager Gregory D. Lewis for a four-year term.
Jagow said the county is looking for someone who not only can compile historical information but use it to develop heritage tourism.
