A senior at Pine Valley Central School was charged with weapons possession Friday after a state trooper said he found two .22-caliber rifles and ammunition in his car in the school parking lot.

Matthew Emke-Walker, 18, of Route 83, Cherry Creek, was arrested by Trooper John Morrow after a faculty member said Walker unsafely passed another car and pulled into the high school lot.

Morrow said he observed a firearm inside the car, and a subsequent search discovered two rifles and numerous rounds of ammunition. Emke-Walker was arraigned before Cherry Creek Town Justice Thomas Maynard and sent to the Chautauqua County jail on $5,000 bail.
