Niagara County sheriff's deputies suspect that the same parties might have been responsible for three incidents of vandalism overnight Saturday that stretched from Ransomville to Wilson.
The wooden "Village of Ransomville" sign on the south side of Youngstown-Lockport Road was destroyed sometime after 10 p.m. Saturday, deputies said. The sign was valued at $1,500.
Farther down the same road, a Wilson man reported that a metal mailbox and holder in front of his house had been destroyed, along with a lamppost and a wooden address sign. He estimated the damage at $800.
On Daniels Road in Wilson, a mailbox valued at $40 was destroyed, deputies said, noting that many similar incidents have been reported in recent days.
