WYOMING EXTRADITES MAN WANTED IN RAPE CASE

A Pennsylvania man serving time in a prison there has been extradited to Wyoming County after being named in a 24-count indictment that accuses him of having sex with a minor, the Wyoming County Sheriff's Department reported Friday.

William Buffum, 38, of Tionesta, Pa., faces five second-degree rape counts, nine counts of criminal sex act, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and several other charges. They include 20 felonies and four misdemeanors.

Sgt. Edward Till investigated a complaint in the Town of Gainesville last March, leading to the indictment against Buffum.

Following his arraignment, Buffum was held in the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail.
