Services for Michael Kortash Sr., 77, of Lackawanna, a retired General Mills employee, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in South Park United Methodist Church, 73 Ashton Place. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Hamburg.
Mr. Kortash, a native of Scranton, Pa., died Wednesday at home after a short illness.
He worked as a coal miner for five years in Pennsylvania before moving to Buffalo in 1953. He worked for General Mills as an industrial truck operator for more than 39 years, retiring in 1992.
Mr. Kortash was a member of South Park Men's Seniors Golf Club and enjoyed bowling, listening to country and gospel music, storytelling and playing Lotto.
He was a member of South Park United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, the former Ruth Dunkle; three daughters, Kathyann Pastuszynski of Pembroke, Joy Ann Kortash-Schumacker of Lackawanna and Kimberly Ann of Richmond, Va.; a son, Michael Jr. of Orchard Park; three sisters, Helen Baladenskas and Caty Lloyd, both of Baltimore, and Rita Buck of Alaska; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
