Teletech Holdings, whose call center in Niagara Falls has about 600 jobs, is seeing quarterly sales and profits rise while new customers sign multimillion dollar contracts.
Sales for the Denver-based customer service provider were up 5 percent and profits quintupled during the third quarter, the company announced Thursday.
The new business includes a five-year contract with the U.S. General Services Administration and a deal with a Fortune 50 corporation worth $150 million over its five-year term.
In addition, Teletech renewed long-term agreements worth an estimated $440 million in sales.
A company spokeswoman said it's too soon to tell if the new business will support employment at the Niagara Falls center on Rainbow Boulevard. The site handles customer service calls for Verizon.
After a sharp downsizing in 2001, the Niagara Falls call center returned to the growth path a year ago. It currently has about 600 workers.
Teletech has 33,000 workers globally and annual sales of $1 billion.
