Two residents have been nominated by Mayor Vince Anello to receive a national award for their commitment to youth.
The Lewis Hine Awards are presented to 10 individuals each year who improve the well-being, growth and development of young people across the country.
Diane M. Quarantello, executive director of the Niagara Falls Boys & Girls Club, has been nominated in the field of professional administrators for 25 years of service to the community's youth, Anello said.
Marilyn Lyman, a longtime nonprofit volunteer, is nominated in the field of volunteer services for the 15 years she has been an ambassador to the city's minority children, Anello announced.
Winners will be named during the week of Dec. 13.
