The Jamestown Community College training and conference center, which houses the Center for Continuing Education on the Cattaraugus County Campus, was recently named the Dresser-Rand Training and Conference Center in recognation of a gift from the company.
"The relationship between JCC and Dresser-Rand has been strong since our campus was established in 1976," said Larry Sorokes, dean of JCC's Cattaraugus County Campus and collegewide planning. "Dresser-Rand has supported hundreds of employees who have sought degrees and skills training at JCC, and company officials were instrumental in bolstering community and financial support for our downtown campus."
The former railroad depot housed the college's fine arts center and was later converted into the Center for Continuing Education. Opportunities for naming the building opened up after the college completed the campus expansion in Olean last year.
A donation by Cutco Corp. to the capital campaign earned its name on the 200-seat Cutco Theater.
