Buffalo State's most successful men's soccer season in two decades ended in heartbreaking fashion Tuesday when Greg Foss of New Paltz scored with 3:08 left in the second overtime to eliminate the Bengals, 1-0, from the SUNYAC quarterfinals at New Paltz.

Foss scored from the middle of the box after dribbling with a deflection. He blasted his shot past goalkeeper Shawn McDonnell (West Seneca.). McDonnell had six saves for the Bengals.

Buffalo State, seeded sixth, finished 11-5-2, its best record since 1984. New Paltz (12-9) was seeded third and posted its highest win total since 1970.

Elsewhere, Mike Agbarian's second goal of the game gave Brockport a 3-2 win at Fredonia after the Blue Devils had rallied from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game on goals by Leo Wilson and Brandon Derkacz (Hamburg). Goalkeeper Matt Borchard (Williamsville South) had four saves for Fredonia (10-6-3).
