A Mass of Christian Burial for Richard L. Rybinski, a retired painter and housing inspector, will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Monday in Our Lady Help of Christians Chapel, 4125 Union Road, Cheektowaga. Prayers will precede the Mass at 9 in Urban-Amigone Funeral Home, 3645 Genesee St., Cheektowaga.
Burial will be in St. Adalberts Cemetery, Lancaster.
Mr. Rybinski, 78, died unexpectedly Wednesday at his Cheektowaga home.
He grew up on the East Side and graduated from Burgard High School. During World War II, he served in the Navy as a member of its construction battalion, the Seabees.
In 1951, he married Irene Kwiatkowski.
For many years, Mr. Rybinski had his own painting company, Reliable Painting. He then was employed as a maintenance worker for Buffalo Public Schools and later for the Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority. He was an inspector with the housing authority just before retiring in 1988.
In addition to his wife of nearly 53 years, survivors include four daughters, Cynthia Culliton of Ben Lomond, Calif., Sandra Nagro of Buffalo, Jacqueline Wert of Cheektowaga and Roberta of the Town of Tonawanda; a son, Richard Jr. of Toledo, Ohio; and 10 grandchildren.
