PRESIDENT IS OUT OF TOUCH WITH REALITIES OF JOB MARKET

In the last debate, President Bush was asked what he would say to a laid-off employee who saw his reasonably paying job go offshore to be performed by a worker at a small fraction of his wage. His answer was that the laid-off employee should go to a community college to learn a "skill of tomorrow."

Any such new skilled jobs are already being rapidly exported. Furthermore, Bush said nothing of how these people would support their families during the suggested two-year college retraining.

The only logical conclusion to be drawn from this is that Bush is either an affable buffoon or he is attempting to deceive his way out of a question for which he knows he has no good answer. He knows the deleterious effect the "free trade" scams have visited upon the entire middle class. In any case, he demonstrated a lack of intellect and integrity necessary to lead the country.

We need a president who will lead us in re-establishing the United States as a world leader in manufacturing, research and development to enable us all to achieve an improved standard of living.
