POLICE SEEK IDENTITY OF MAN KILLED BY TRAIN

Police were trying to identify the body of a man who was struck Friday evening by a passenger train near the Highway 406 overpass.

The man was in his 30s, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, and weighing about 230 pounds. He had a reddish brown mustache and goatee and a shaved head. He wore a black T-shirt, jeans, a red Sorel jacket and size 13 blue-and-white sneakers.

Police said their investigation revealed that the man was walking east alongside the north side of the train tracks at about 7:30 p.m. when he was hit by the Via Tail train.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are asking anyone who has information about the identity of the victim to call them at (905) 688-4111, Ext. 4233.
