Trick-or-treating in the city of Buffalo will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
Buffalo police remind parents that neighborhood parties and celebrations are a safe alternative to trick-or-treating. However, any child who will trick-or-treat door-to-door should be accompanied by an adult and stay in familiar neighborhoods.
They should also obey all traffic rules, wear safe and flame-retardant costumes and never eat treats until they've been inspected by adults.
Flashlights and cell phones should be carried by adults. Any suspicious activity or candy should be reported to 911 immediately.
