A tractor-trailer loaded with ice cream crashed in Ripley on Thursday afternoon after the load shifted while the driver was making a turn, Chautauqua County sheriff's deputies reported.
The crash occurred at about 3 p.m. on Route 76, closing the road for many hours.
Kenneth Bennett, 57, of Chicago, was traveling north on the road when the ice cream shifted around a turn and caused the truck to overturn into a ravine, police said.
Bennett was treated at Westfield Hospital for neck pain and multiple scratches.
He was cited for an unsecured load.
